What does Routine Dentistry do?
Routine Comprehensive Oral Health Examination to care for their smile and oral health. Throughout this appointment there will be a full Oral Cancer check of the throat, soft tissue and neck as well as gum health examination to prevent gum disease, bleeding and tooth loss.
All diagnostic X-Rays (excluding CBCT scans) to ensure your mouth is in top condition at all times, preventing additional treatment and issues from areas under the gum line. A detailed diagnostic digital scan is used to spot early signs of decay, recession, tooth wear and issues that could cause larger problems.
Hygiene Smile Therapy is dedicated to removing tartar and staining. The majority of our clients choose this service every three to six months to care for their smile and oral health. Regular visits ensure that potential problems can be identified and addressed early.
Upgrading to Airflow Hygiene Therapy is the latest development in dental hygiene technology. The best option for allowing a thorough, comfortable and pleasant hygiene experience. Airflow uses water warmed to body temperature, which is fantastic for people with sensitive teeth. This service has a vastly superior stain removal and polishing ability compared to regular polishing. The HAUS team recommends Airflow for anyone who wants to level up from a traditional hygiene visit.
Benefits of Routine Dentistry
Routine dentistry plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal oral health and overall well-being. Improve Oral Health
Routine Dentistry is fundamental to maintaining and improving Oral Health. Regular Comprehensive Oral Health Exams allow your Clinician to spot early signs of cavities, gum disease and any other dental conditions before they become problematic.
Routine Dentistry plays a critical role in not only preserving your Oral Health but also supporting your overall well-being by preventing disease, reducing costs and contributing to a healthier lifestyle.
Early Detection of Oral Problems
Maintaining Routine Dentistry, such as Comprehensive Oral Health Exams and Hygiene visits, play a crucial role in the early detection of oral problems.
Comprehensive Oral Health exams allow your Dentist to identify and treat cavities in their early stages before they cause significant damage or require more invasive procedures.
Dentists are able to spot early signs of gingivitis or periodontal disease, helping to prevent tooth loss and other complications.
Routine Visits include screenings for oral cancer, which increases the chances of early diagnosis and successful treatment.
Prevention of Dental Issues
Routine dental visits help prevent Dental issues by ensuring consistent monitoring and early intervention.
Even with good brushing and flossing, plaque can build up over time. Maintaining routine Hygiene visits remove stubborn plaque and tartar, preventing cavities and gum disease.
Dentists are able to identify early signs of tooth decay, gum disease and any other issues before they become severe, allowing for timely treatment.
Regular Routine dentistry can help detect and treat initial signs of gum disease before it progresses to periodontal disease, which can lead to tooth loss if left untreated.
Dentists can assess changes in bite alignment, jaw pain or teeth grinding which may require intervention to prevent long term damage.
Routine visits provide the relative information on maintaining good oral hygiene, ensuring you are using the right technique and products for optimal dental health.
By catching issues early, routine visits help avoid expensive and complex treatments, such as root canals and extractions. Overall regular dental visits serve as a proactive approach to maintaining healthy teeth and gums, reducing the risk of severe dental problems.
Enhance Smile and Confidence
Maintaining routine dentistry enhances your smile and confidence in several ways.
Hygiene visits remove plaque, tartar and surface stains, keeping your teeth looking clean and bright. This enhances the overall appearance of your smile. Routine Dental Visits can help prevent cavities and gum disease, which can cause discoloration, bad breath and even tooth loss.
Visiting the dentist regularly helps monitor teeth alignment and bite issues. If necessary, orthodontic treatments like fixed braces or Invisalign can be recommended to improve both function and aesthetics. Routine visits also allow dentists to address imperfections such as chipped, stained or misaligned teeth with treatments like veneers, bonding or teeth whitening.
Poor Oral Hygiene can lead to persistent bad breath. Regular hygiene visits and oral health exams can keep your breath fresh by removing bacteria from hard to reach areas.
A healthy, well-maintained smile can make you feel more confident in social and professional interactions, leading to improved self-esteem and a positive first impression. By staying consistent with dental visits, you ensure that your smile remains healthy and a source of confidence in your daily life.
FAQs
How often should I visit the Dentist?
You should visit the dentist at least two times per year for your Comprehensive Oral Health examinations and Hygiene visits. However, the ideal frequency depends on your individual oral health needs. If you have good oral health and no ongoing issues, twice yearly visits should be enough to keep your teeth and gums in a healthy condition.
What not to do before a dentist appointment?
Before visiting the dentist, there are a few things you should avoid to ensure a smooth and comfortable appointment.
Avoid excessive caffeine – Caffeine might make you jittery and anxious, making it harder to sit still during your appointment.
Don’t overbrush or floss aggressively – Don’t brush or floss too hard right before a visit, which can irritate your gums and make them more sensitive during your appointment.
Skip sugary or acidic foods – Fizzy drinks, sweets or citrus fruits can leave a coating on your teeth that may affect the hygiene process
Don’t smoke or use tobacco – Smoking before an appointment can cause bad breath and stain your teeth, making the cleaning less effective.
Don’t hide any symptoms – Avoid taking painkillers before your visit (unless prescribed) as they can mask any symptoms that your dentist needs to evaluate.
