Cosmetic Bonding
Reshaping your smile, made easy
Cosmetic bonding is an incredible minimally-invasive technique involving the careful sculpting of composite to change the shape and size of teeth and make them appear whiter.
Composite bonding is widely available in many clinics; but not all composite bonding is crafted in the same way and is dependant on the skill and expertise of the individual Dentist. Our Dental team at HAUS have extensive experience and advanced training to create natural long-lasting results. Cosmetic Bonding is carried out daily in the HAUS clinic making it one of our core treatment options.

Composite Bonding in Ayrshire
Composite bonding is typically used to change the shape, size and/or colour of teeth. It can be made to look incredibly life-like where you can't tell the difference between natural teeth, and teeth that have had composite bonding applied.
This is where the skill of the clinician you choose to do your treatment is essential for creating a beautiful yet natural result. We quite often recreate smiles for Clients when the treatment has not been carried out to a high enough standard elsewhere, using our own techniques to repair your smile.
Time Required for Composite Bonding
Composite Bonding is a very personalised treatment for every individual client, and the time taken to hand-sculpt your smile can vary depending on how many teeth and what coverage of composite is required.
Our highly-skilled Dentists treat every smile like a work of art, ensuring the detail on each individual tooth creates a natural result. They take into consideration personality, face shape and even the curve of your lip to ensure your new smile mirrors this perfectly to give you an enhanced, symmetrical smile.
This treatment can take anywhere between an hour to a full day to create a brand-new, stunning smile depending on the complexity involved.

What does Composite Bonding do?
Composite bonding is created by layering ultra thin layers of a variety of materials to recreate the natural anatomy of teeth so that they look realistic and shine like a normal tooth. Often, when this process is not done correctly teeth look ‘flat’ and lifeless or have a plastic like appearance. The materials we use are selected from specific laboratories around the world to create a winning combination for a smile that is long-lasting, resistant to staining, durable and hard wearing.

FAQs
Is composite bonding painful?
Composite bonding is a completely pain-free treatment as it doesn’t require any injections or removing of your own natural tooth. A common question we get asked is 'Do my teeth get filed down for this treatment?’ And the answer is always absolutely not! no damage will be done to your existing teeth.
How long does Composite Bonding last?
Composite bonding, with proper care and maintenance, can easily last up to 7 years with some people getting far longer with appropriate care. To keep your smile looking great after your composite bonding treatment, it is essential that you follow a Hygiene Therapy regime from your HAUS clinician who are skilled in caring for this type of treatment specifically, without any damage being done.
We also recommend an annual composite bonding review with your dentist who carried out the treatment, to keep your smile polished and looking it’s best for years to come.
Can I just have cosmetic bonding?
Our expert clinicians will be able to advise whether you may need any treatment(s) prior to cosmetic bonding at your New Client Consultation.
Depending on the alignment of your teeth or your biting position our clinicians may recommend Invisalign® beforehand to prevent chipping and increase the longevity of your bonding.
