What is involved in Implant Treatment?
A dental implant is used to support a crown, bridgework or denture where a titanium implant integrates and fuses with the surrounding jawbone over a period of time. This is a vital process for the stability and long-term success of the implants. It provides a strong and long term solution that replicates your own natural tooth.
Once the dental implant has successfully integrated, the restoration of placing either crowns, dental bridgework or dentures would begin to achieve your new custom smile.

FAQs
What to expect during and after surgery
You will not feel any pain during your Implant placement surgery as this is usually carried out with the use of local anaesthetic and/or oral sedation.
After surgery, you should expect some discomfort, swelling and bruising. However, how much to expect will vary between each person and the size of the surgical procedure undertaken as well as the number of implants placed. If you are a smoker or have pre-existing health conditions which affect soft tissue healing, the amount of swelling may be greater and slower to heal.
On average swelling will reduce between 4-5 days after surgery.
Am I eligible for Dental Implants?
Eligibility for Dental Implants depends on a number of factors. Healthy gums and general oral health are crucial for the success of implants. Sufficient bone density, to be able to support the implant is also a factor to consider. However additional treatment, such as bone grafts, can aid eligibility for dental implant treatment.
How long will my Dental Implants last?
Implants are a safe, well-established treatment, much like natural teeth, they will last for as long as you care for them and are a very effective way of replacing missing teeth. If your implants are well looked after – and if the bone they are placed into remains strong and healthy – you can expect them to last for many years. Many people have dental implants that last 20-30 years and frequently, many more than this.
